About Me
I’m Sarah, the squinty face behind Sarah Knuth Photography.
I wasn’t always a photographer. For a long time I was a Photographer’s daughter. My Dad had a camera in his hands for as long as I can remember. He captured vacations and birthdays, holidays and all the days in between while my siblings and I were growing up. He even won some awards at local competitions for his film work back in the day. I guess that’s where my photography gene comes from.
Eight years ago this Florida girl met an Indiana boy who was just too good to pass up. We got married and I joined him in the Midwest, just outside of Indianapolis. I decided to start a blog to document our new life together, and share stories and pictures with my friends and family back home. Kent (my husband) bought me my first “good camera” so I could take pictures for my blog. I taught myself how to shoot through trial and error, YouTube.com and some tips from Dad. The years passed, my camera got upgraded and my hobby grew into a business.
We had two boys along the way; Rock and Rome. I know I’m partial, but they really are perfect, and they are a huge part of why I do what I do. Becoming a Mom gave me the courage to quit my 9-5 job and pursue my photography dream full time (and also gave me plenty of practice at capturing moving targets). Seeing how fast the have grown from newborns, to toddlers, to boys makes me realize how fast time is going, how quickly things change, and what a gift it is to be able to freeze time for a moment.
These days my Dad’s six cameras sit on the shelves in my office behind me while I work, and I am the one trying to teach him how to take pictures and videos with his iPhone.
When I’m not editing your images and dreaming up my next shoot, I enjoy traveling with my family, drinking a ridiculous amount of McDonald’s Coke, binge watching Bravo TV, avoiding cooking dinner and blogging over on my personal website.
